CVE-2020-12243 9 Apple, Broadcom, Canonical and 6 more 28 Mac Os X, Brocade Fabric Operating System, Ubuntu Linux and 25 more 2026-10-14 7.5 High
In filter.c in slapd in OpenLDAP before 2.4.50, LDAP search filters with nested boolean expressions can result in denial of service (daemon crash).
CVE-2019-13565 7 Apple, Canonical, Debian and 4 more 9 Mac Os X, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 6 more 2026-10-14 7.5 High
An issue was discovered in OpenLDAP 2.x before 2.4.48. When using SASL authentication and session encryption, and relying on the SASL security layers in slapd access controls, it is possible to obtain access that would otherwise be denied via a simple bind for any identity covered in those ACLs. After the first SASL bind is completed, the sasl_ssf value is retained for all new non-SASL connections. Depending on the ACL configuration, this can affect different types of operations (searches, modifications, etc.). In other words, a successful authorization step completed by one user affects the authorization requirement for a different user.
CVE-2019-13057 7 Apple, Canonical, Debian and 4 more 9 Mac Os X, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 6 more 2026-10-14 4.9 Medium
An issue was discovered in the server in OpenLDAP before 2.4.48. When the server administrator delegates rootDN (database admin) privileges for certain databases but wants to maintain isolation (e.g., for multi-tenant deployments), slapd does not properly stop a rootDN from requesting authorization as an identity from another database during a SASL bind or with a proxyAuthz (RFC 4370) control. (It is not a common configuration to deploy a system where the server administrator and a DB administrator enjoy different levels of trust.)
CVE-2008-0658 2 Openldap, Redhat 2 Openldap, Enterprise Linux 2026-04-23 N/A
slapd/back-bdb/modrdn.c in the BDB backend for slapd in OpenLDAP 2.3.39 allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) via a modrdn operation with a NOOP (LDAP_X_NO_OPERATION) control, a related issue to CVE-2007-6698.
CVE-2008-2952 2 Openldap, Redhat 2 Openldap, Enterprise Linux 2026-04-23 N/A
liblber/io.c in OpenLDAP 2.2.4 to 2.4.10 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (program termination) via crafted ASN.1 BER datagrams that trigger an assertion error.
CVE-2005-4442 1 Openldap 1 Openldap 2026-04-16 N/A
Untrusted search path vulnerability in OpenLDAP before 2.2.28-r3 on Gentoo Linux allows local users in the portage group to gain privileges via a malicious shared object in the Portage temporary build directory, which is part of the RUNPATH.
CVE-2026-22185 1 Openldap 1 Openldap 2026-03-05 6.8 Medium
OpenLDAP Lightning Memory-Mapped Database (LMDB) versions up to and including 0.9.14, prior to commit 8e1fda8, contain a heap buffer underflow in the readline() function of mdb_load. When processing malformed input containing an embedded NUL byte, an unsigned offset calculation can underflow and cause an out-of-bounds read of one byte before the allocated heap buffer. This can cause mdb_load to crash, leading to a limited denial-of-service condition.
CVE-2016-4984 2 Openldap, Redhat 2 Openldap-servers, Enterprise Linux 2025-04-20 N/A
/usr/libexec/openldap/generate-server-cert.sh in openldap-servers sets weak permissions for the TLS certificate, which allows local users to obtain the TLS certificate by leveraging a race condition between the creation of the certificate, and the chmod to protect it.
CVE-2017-17740 4 Mcafee, Openldap, Opensuse and 1 more 4 Policy Auditor, Openldap, Leap and 1 more 2025-04-20 7.5 High
contrib/slapd-modules/nops/nops.c in OpenLDAP through 2.4.45, when both the nops module and the memberof overlay are enabled, attempts to free a buffer that was allocated on the stack, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (slapd crash) via a member MODDN operation.
CVE-2017-9287 5 Debian, Mcafee, Openldap and 2 more 11 Debian Linux, Policy Auditor, Openldap and 8 more 2025-04-20 6.5 Medium
servers/slapd/back-mdb/search.c in OpenLDAP through 2.4.44 is prone to a double free vulnerability. A user with access to search the directory can crash slapd by issuing a search including the Paged Results control with a page size of 0.
CVE-2017-14159 2 Openldap, Oracle 2 Openldap, Blockchain Platform 2025-04-20 4.7 Medium
slapd in OpenLDAP 2.4.45 and earlier creates a PID file after dropping privileges to a non-root account, which might allow local users to kill arbitrary processes by leveraging access to this non-root account for PID file modification before a root script executes a "kill `cat /pathname`" command, as demonstrated by openldap-initscript.
CVE-2015-1546 3 Apple, Openldap, Opensuse 3 Mac Os X, Openldap, Opensuse 2025-04-12 N/A
Double free vulnerability in the get_vrFilter function in servers/slapd/filter.c in OpenLDAP 2.4.40 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted search query with a matched values control.
CVE-2015-6908 3 Apple, Openldap, Redhat 3 Mac Os X, Openldap, Enterprise Linux 2025-04-12 N/A
The ber_get_next function in libraries/liblber/io.c in OpenLDAP 2.4.42 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (reachable assertion and application crash) via crafted BER data, as demonstrated by an attack against slapd.
CVE-2015-1545 1 Openldap 1 Openldap 2025-04-12 N/A
The deref_parseCtrl function in servers/slapd/overlays/deref.c in OpenLDAP 2.4.13 through 2.4.40 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and crash) via an empty attribute list in a deref control in a search request.
CVE-2015-3276 3 Openldap, Oracle, Redhat 10 Openldap, Linux, Enterprise Linux and 7 more 2025-04-12 7.5 High
The nss_parse_ciphers function in libraries/libldap/tls_m.c in OpenLDAP does not properly parse OpenSSL-style multi-keyword mode cipher strings, which might cause a weaker than intended cipher to be used and allow remote attackers to have unspecified impact via unknown vectors.
CVE-2014-9713 2 Debian, Openldap 2 Debian Linux, Openldap 2025-04-12 N/A
The default slapd configuration in the Debian openldap package 2.4.23-3 through 2.4.39-1.1 allows remote authenticated users to modify the user's permissions and other user attributes via unspecified vectors.
CVE-2010-0211 5 Apple, Openldap, Opensuse and 2 more 6 Mac Os X, Mac Os X Server, Openldap and 3 more 2025-04-11 9.8 Critical
The slap_modrdn2mods function in modrdn.c in OpenLDAP 2.4.22 does not check the return value of a call to the smr_normalize function, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (segmentation fault) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a modrdn call with an RDN string containing invalid UTF-8 sequences, which triggers a free of an invalid, uninitialized pointer in the slap_mods_free function, as demonstrated using the Codenomicon LDAPv3 test suite.
CVE-2012-1164 2 Openldap, Redhat 2 Openldap, Enterprise Linux 2025-04-11 N/A
slapd in OpenLDAP before 2.4.30 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (assertion failure and daemon exit) via an LDAP search query with attrsOnly set to true, which causes empty attributes to be returned.
CVE-2011-4079 1 Openldap 1 Openldap 2025-04-11 N/A
Off-by-one error in the UTF8StringNormalize function in OpenLDAP 2.4.26 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (slapd crash) via a zero-length string that triggers a heap-based buffer overflow, as demonstrated using an empty postalAddressAttribute value in an LDIF entry.
CVE-2011-1025 2 Openldap, Redhat 2 Openldap, Enterprise Linux 2025-04-11 N/A
bind.cpp in back-ndb in OpenLDAP 2.4.x before 2.4.24 does not require authentication for the root Distinguished Name (DN), which allows remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions via an arbitrary password.
