CVSS v3.1 |
| FreeRDP from 3.0.0 before 3.32.0 contains an infinite loop vulnerability in http_response_recv() that allows malicious gateways to exhaust client CPU via crafted Content-Type headers. Attackers controlling a gateway can return a nonzero Content-Length with a semicolon-containing unrecognized Content-Type, pinning a client thread at full CPU indefinitely. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/sched: fix packet loop on netem when duplicate is on
When netem duplicates a packet it re-enqueues the copy at the root qdisc.
If another netem sits in the tree the copy can be duplicated
again, recursing until the stack or memory is exhausted.
The original duplication guard temporarily zeroed q->duplicate around
the re-enqueue, but that does not cover all cases because it is
per-qdisc state shared across all concurrent enqueue paths
and is not safe without additional locking.
Use the skb tc_depth field introduced in an earlier patch:
- increment it on the duplicate before re-enqueue
- skip duplication for any skb whose tc_depth is already non-zero.
This marks the packet itself rather than mutating qdisc state,
therefore it is safe regardless of tree topology or concurrency. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/ttm: Fix ttm_bo_swapout() infinite LRU walk on swapout failure
When ttm_tt_swapout() fails, the current code calls
ttm_resource_add_bulk_move() followed by ttm_resource_move_to_lru_tail()
to restore the resource's bulk_move membership.
However, ttm_resource_move_to_lru_tail() places the resource at the tail
of the LRU list which, relative to the walk cursor's hitch node (placed
immediately after the resource when it was yielded), puts the resource
*in front of the* the hitch. The next list_for_each_entry_continue() from
the hitch finds the same resource again, causing an infinite loop.
Fix by deferring del_bulk_move to the success path only.
On the success path, TTM_TT_FLAG_SWAPPED has just been set by
ttm_tt_swapout() but the resource is still tracked in the bulk_move range,
so ttm_resource_del_bulk_move()'s !ttm_resource_unevictable() guard would
incorrectly skip the removal. Introduce
ttm_resource_del_bulk_move_unevictable() which bypasses that guard. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/ttm: Fix ttm_bo_shrink() infinite LRU walk on backup failure
Apply the same fix as b2ed01e7ad ("drm/ttm: Fix ttm_bo_swapout()
infinite LRU walk on swapout failure") to the ttm_bo_shrink() path.
Move del_bulk_move from before the backup to after success only,
using ttm_resource_del_bulk_move_unevictable() since the resource
is now unevictable once fully backed up. |
| L-SMASH through 2.14.5 contains an infinite loop vulnerability in vc1_importer_probe() in importer/vc1_imp.c that allows attackers to hang applications via crafted input files. Attackers can supply a file consisting only of zero bytes, which lsmash_read_file() probes automatically, causing indefinite CPU consumption and denial of service. |
| A flaw was found in curl. When communicating with a malicious server using protocols such as FTP, IMAP, POP3, or SMTP, the server can trigger an infinite loop by continuously transmitting data while omitting the final control response line. This behavior bypasses configured transfer timeouts, indefinitely blocking concurrent transfers and resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS). |
| GNU Tar through 1.30, when --sparse is used, mishandles file shrinkage during read access, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (infinite read loop in sparse_dump_region in sparse.c) by modifying a file that is supposed to be archived by a different user's process (e.g., a system backup running as root). |
| FFmpeg before 8.1.3 contains an infinite loop vulnerability in the HLS demuxer that allows remote attackers to cause denial of service because parse_playlist() accepts Master Playlist tags inside Media Playlists. Attackers can trick victims into opening a crafted self-referencing playlist that endlessly adds variants in hls_read_header(), causing unbounded CPU and I/O consumption. |
| urllib3 is an HTTP client library for Python. From 2.6.2 until 2.8.0, HTTPResponse.stream and HTTPResponse.read_chunked can enter an infinite loop because the Deflate decoder retains trailing bytes as unconsumed input after reaching end-of-stream and repeatedly decodes them without progress. The issue occurs when an untrusted server sends a chunked Deflate response whose decoded body exceeds a positive finite chunk size and whose encoded body has trailing bytes, specifically a response with Transfer-Encoding: chunked and Content-Encoding: deflate, content decoding enabled, and the positive finite amt=N streaming chunk size. The attack mechanism is that a malicious server returns a compressed chunked response with trailing bytes after the Deflate stream. The impact is excessive CPU usage and a request that does not complete, and network read timeouts do not interrupt the loop because no further socket read occurs. This issue is fixed in version 2.8.0. |
| The Okta RADIUS Agent does not validate the sub-attribute length when parsing a Vendor-Specific attribute. A sub-attribute length of zero causes the parser to loop indefinitely, resulting in worker-thread exhaustion and denial of new RADIUS authentication requests. |
| music-metadata is a metadata parser for audio and video media files. In the public development revision introduced after 11.14.0, a development-branch regression in the MP4 stsd sample-description parser allows an attacker-controlled sample-entry size of zero to prevent the StsdAtom.get cursor from advancing while an attacker-controlled entry_count keeps the synchronous loop running. A crafted MP4-family input can block the Node.js event loop and grow the sample-description table until the process is terminated or exhausts memory. The vulnerable change was present on the public master branch but was not included in music-metadata 11.14.0 or any earlier npm release, and version 11.16.0 contains the fix. This issue is fixed in version 11.16.0. |
| When migrating a repository from another Gitea instance, Gitea used the page size reported in the source server's API settings to end its paginated downloads. A source that reported `max_response_items` as `0` made these loops run indefinitely and grow server memory until it was exhausted. Any user who can migrate repositories could point a migration at a server they control and cause a denial of service. |
| A flaw was found in gnome-remote-desktop as shipped in Red Hat Enterprise Linux. In the VNC TLS I/O handlers, retryable GnuTLS results (GNUTLS_E_AGAIN and GNUTLS_E_INTERRUPTED) are handled with an unbounded busy loop instead of yielding to the event loop. A remote attacker who can reach an enabled VNC TLS listener can cause the event-loop thread to spin at high CPU with no forward progress, resulting in denial of service. |
| FreeRDP from 2.3.0 before 3.32.0 contains an infinite loop vulnerability in http_chuncked_read that allows malicious RD Gateways to hang clients by sending incomplete chunked responses. Attackers can send a partial chunk-size line or footer followed by a clean TLS shutdown, causing zero-byte reads to loop forever and freeze the client decoder thread. |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57, a crafted XMP profile embedded in an image can cause the profile parser to enter an infinite loop, preventing image processing from completing. This issue is fixed in versions 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: wwan: mhi_wwan_mbim: guard against a cyclic NDP chain
The NDP traversal in mhi_mbim_rx() only stops when wNextNdpIndex is
zero. Nothing requires the offsets to advance, so a modem that
points an NDP at itself, or at an earlier NDP, keeps the loop
spinning forever on one CPU.
Break out when the next NDP offset is not larger than the current
one.
Verified in a QEMU guest with a fault injector feeding the driver's
receive callback an NTB whose single NDP points at itself: the
unpatched driver spins in mhi_mbim_rx() with one CPU pinned at 100%
and the thread never returns. With this check the loop terminates
within one iteration.
Changes in v2: move the non-increasing check to the wNextNdpIndex
retrieval site, as suggested by Loic Poulain, instead of tracking
the previous offset in a separate variable. |
| The RabbitMQ Java client library allows Java and JVM-based applications to connect to and interact with RabbitMQ nodes. Prior to 5.37.0, com.rabbitmq.tools.json.JSONReader.read() fails to terminate when input ends inside a quoted string or a line comment because its string and whitespace scanners do not stop at CharacterIterator.DONE. The default DefaultJsonRpcMapper passes JSON-RPC message bodies to this parser for JsonRpcServer and client replies. A truncated string causes the parser to append replacement end markers until heap exhaustion, while a line comment without a terminating newline can keep a thread consuming CPU indefinitely, resulting in denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 5.37.0. |
| FFmpeg through 9.0.2 contains an infinite loop vulnerability in ff_rtsp_connect() in libavformat/rtsp.c that follows RTSP 3xx redirects without any redirect limit. Attackers controlling an RTSP server can answer every request with a 302 redirect to itself or another server, causing endless reconnects that saturate a CPU core. |
| A flaw was found in sssd. A local user can cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by exhausting the responder service's available file descriptors (system handles used for open connections). By opening and maintaining many concurrent connections to a responder socket while continuing to queue new connection attempts, an attacker can trigger an unthrottled retry loop. This condition leads to high CPU utilization and stalls the service, preventing legitimate identity and authentication requests from being processed. |
| A flaw was found in m17n-lib. By providing crafted input containing an invalid UTF-8 character sequence, an attacker can cause the text parsing function to enter an infinite loop. This issue leads to sustained high CPU utilization, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the affected application. |
