CVSS v3.1 |
| NLnet Labs Unbound 1.6.2 up to and including version 1.25.0 has a denial of service vulnerability when compiled with DNSCrypt support ('--enable-dnscrypt'). A bad DNSCrypt query could underflow Unbound's DNSCrypt packet reading procedure that may lead to heap overflow. A malicious actor can exploit the vulnerability with a single bad DNSCrypt query that its decrypted plaintext consists entirely of '0x00' bytes and does not contain the expected '0x80' marker. Unbound would then start reading more bytes than necessary until it finds a non-'0x00' byte. Based on the underlying memory allocator and the memory layout, it could lead to heap overflow while reading followed by a crash. Likelihood of a crash is low, since it relies heavily on the underlying memory allocator and the memory layout. If the heap overflow does not happen, Unbound's later packet checks will deny the packet. Unbound 1.25.1 contains a patch with a fix to bound reading in the given buffer space. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
HID: logitech-hidpp: Check maxfield in hidpp_get_report_length()
Do not crash when a report has no fields.
Fake USB gadgets can send their own HID report descriptors and can define report
structures without valid fields. This can be used to crash the kernel over USB. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: iris: Add missing platform data entries for SM8750
Two platform-data fields for SM8750 were missed:
- get_vpu_buffer_size = iris_vpu33_buf_size
Without this, the driver fails to allocate the required internal
buffers, leading to basic decode/encode failures during session
bring-up.
- max_core_mbps = ((7680 * 4320) / 256) * 60
Without this capability exposed, capability checks are incomplete and
v4l2-compliance for encoder fails. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
comedi: dt2815: add hardware detection to prevent crash
The dt2815 driver crashes when attached to I/O ports without actual
hardware present. This occurs because syzkaller or users can attach
the driver to arbitrary I/O addresses via COMEDI_DEVCONFIG ioctl.
When no hardware exists at the specified port, inb() operations return
0xff (floating bus), but outb() operations can trigger page faults due
to undefined behavior, especially under race conditions:
BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: 000000007fffff90
#PF: supervisor write access in kernel mode
#PF: error_code(0x0002) - not-present page
RIP: 0010:dt2815_attach+0x6e0/0x1110
Add hardware detection by reading the status register before attempting
any write operations. If the read returns 0xff, assume no hardware is
present and fail the attach with -ENODEV. This prevents crashes from
outb() operations on non-existent hardware. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: ctxfi: Don't enumerate SPDIF1 at DAIO initialization
The recent refactoring of xfi driver changed the assignment of
atc->daios[] at atc_get_resources(); now it loops over all enum
DAIOTYP entries while it looped formerly only a part of them.
The problem is that the last entry, SPDIF1, is a special type that
is used only for hw20k1 CTSB073X model (as a replacement of SPDIFIO),
and there is no corresponding definition for hw20k2. Due to the lack
of the info, it caused a kernel crash on hw20k2, which was already
worked around by the commit b045ab3dff97 ("ALSA: ctxfi: Fix missing
SPDIFI1 index handling").
This patch addresses the root cause of the regression above properly,
simply by skipping the incorrect SPDIF1 type in the parser loop.
For making the change clearer, the code is slightly arranged, too. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb: server: let send_done handle a completion without IB_SEND_SIGNALED
With smbdirect_send_batch processing we likely have requests without
IB_SEND_SIGNALED, which will be destroyed in the final request
that has IB_SEND_SIGNALED set.
If the connection is broken all requests are signaled
even without explicit IB_SEND_SIGNALED. |
| Unspecified vulnerability in OpenVPN 2.1-beta14 through 2.1-rc8, when running on non-Windows systems, allows remote servers to execute arbitrary commands via crafted (1) lladdr and (2) iproute configuration directives, probably related to shell metacharacters. |
| WordPress and WordPress MU before 2.8.1 exhibit different behavior for a failed login attempt depending on whether the user account exists, which allows remote attackers to enumerate valid usernames. NOTE: the vendor reportedly disputes the significance of this issue, indicating that the behavior exists for "user convenience." |
| ZyXEL Prestige routers, including P-660 and P-661 models with firmware 3.40(AGD.2) through 3.40(AHQ.3), have (1) "user" as their default password for the "user" account and (2) "1234" as their default password for the "admin" account, which makes it easier for remote attackers to obtain access. |
| XScreenSaver in Sun Solaris 10, when the accessibility feature is enabled, allows physically proximate attackers to obtain sensitive information by reading popup windows, which are displayed even when the screen is locked, a different vulnerability than CVE-2009-1276 and CVE-2009-2711. |
| The default SNMP configuration on ZyXEL Prestige routers, including P-660 and P-661 models with firmware 3.40(AGD.2) through 3.40(AHQ.3), has a Trusted Host value of 0.0.0.0, which allows remote attackers to send SNMP requests from any source IP address. |
| The forgotten mail interface in WordPress and WordPress MU before 2.8.1 exhibits different behavior for a password request depending on whether the user account exists, which allows remote attackers to enumerate valid usernames. NOTE: the vendor reportedly disputes the significance of this issue, indicating that the behavior exists for "user convenience." |
| The IAX2 channel driver (chan_iax2) in Asterisk 1.2 before revision 72630 and 1.4 before revision 65679, when configured to allow unauthenticated calls, sends "early audio" to an unverified source IP address of a NEW message, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (traffic amplification) via a spoofed NEW message. |
| Unspecified vulnerability in the floating point context switch implementation in Sun Solaris 9 and 10 on x86 platforms might allow local users to cause a denial of service (application exit), corrupt data, or trigger incorrect calculations via unknown vectors. |
| The default configuration of the JBossAs component in Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (aka JBossEAP or EAP), possibly 4.2 before CP04 and 4.3 before CP02, when a production environment is enabled, sets the DownloadServerClasses property to true, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information (non-EJB classes) via a download request, a different vulnerability than CVE-2008-3273. |
| The db2fmp process in IBM DB2 8 before FP17, 9.1 before FP5, and 9.5 before FP2 on Windows runs with "OS privilege," which has unknown impact and attack vectors, a different vulnerability than CVE-2008-3856. |
| LdapCtx in the LDAP service in Java SE Development Kit (JDK) and Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 17 and earlier; 6 Update 12 and earlier; SDK and JRE 1.3.1_24 and earlier; and 1.4.2_19 and earlier does not close the connection when initialization fails, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (LDAP service hang). |
| Insecure method vulnerability in the Versalsoft HTTP Image Uploader ActiveX control (UUploaderSvrD.dll 6.0.0.35) allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary files via the RemoveFileOrDir method. |
| nfsd in the Linux kernel before 2.6.28.9 does not drop the CAP_MKNOD capability before handling a user request in a thread, which allows local users to create device nodes, as demonstrated on a filesystem that has been exported with the root_squash option. |
| Cisco ACE 4710 Application Control Engine Appliance before A1(8a) uses default (1) usernames and (2) passwords for (a) the administrator, (b) web management, and (c) device management, which makes it easier for remote attackers to perform configuration changes to the Device Manager and other components, or obtain operating-system access. |
